13th August we had a meeting to discuss the program for the new semester. A small group of 6 students and 2 priests sat in the parish hall and agreed on many of the details of the new program. Among other things, we decided not to increase the number of meetings from 3 to 4 times a month. “Quality above quantity”, said P. Dominic, which we agreed on. It’s not good to have more meetings if they are badly organized and implemented. And as you know, the board of the student group consists only of 3 people, so it’s fairly easy to understand that we are limited in our resources and time. Dependent on the progress of the student group in the coming time, we may consider to expand the board.
New features include 3 meetings on Saturdays. This because we don’t want you to always have to worry about schools, works and other things when the meetings are on wednesday’s evenings. And also because we need two consecutive days (and nights) if we are going to make it to Stiklestad by using our legs. Yes, you’ve read correctly – we are going to walk to Stiklestad on a pilgrimage few of us will survive (at least me). For those who don’t know where it is, a superficial picture will suffice for now: it’s somewhere far far far far away in the cold, dark north, where the sun never rises and the ice of winter cuts you deep into the bone. Excited? Me too.
So besides spending between 20 to 30 hours constantly wading through thick, thorny growths and pitch black forests on a Saturday and Sunday on our way to Stiklestad, we at the Trondheim Catholic Student Group are also going to do other fun stuffs in this semester. Check them out on the link to the right! Hope to see you soon. Welcome to a new semester!
