Join us at our welcome party sunday the 30th of january 2011 just after the mass at St Olav, so around 19:30.

There will be pizza for everybody, music and songs. Don’t miss it!

This meeting will also be an opportunity to present our first activities for the new semester.

Invite as many friends as you can and send us an email so we can evaluate the quantities we need.

Bible Group

Yesterday, 3rd of November, Dom Albert (our new parish priest) joined us in our Bible reflection. It was very educative and interesting. At the same time nice to get to know our parish priest better, and hopefully nice for him to get to know us!

In total we were 10 people from 7 different countries; Norway, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Belgium, South Korea and Czech. We read and talked about gospel of John 14, 1-6:

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. Where (I) am going you know the way.” Thomas said to him, “Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

First meeting: Vesper and BBQ

Albert Magnus Catholic Student Group invites to the first meeting of the semester. We meet for Mass at 630PM in St.Olav Church. After Mass we will pray Vesper together, and then have a barbecue.

In order to prepare food, we need to know how many is attending. Send therefore a mail to post@albertmagnus.org if you are coming, preferably before Wednesday.

We ended the first semester of 2010 with vesper and BBQ. It was a sunny day, even if it was a bit cold. Good food and nice company!

Adoration and BBQ

After Mass the 19th of May the student group met for adoration in the chapel of St. Olav Church in Trondheim. Afterwards we prepared a small BBQ. It was very nice both to get the spiritual and physical nourishment.

Bible Study – Bible Journey

On Wednesday the 28th we were four students and P.Al at the Bible Study. It was a nice experience. Reading the Bible and meditating on words seems to make it more available and relevant for our lives.

P.Al started with a short prayer to the Holy Spirit. Remembering the passage from Matt 18,20: (…) For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” The fact that He is in our midst is the presupposition and basis for the Bible meditation. We read a part of John 20 and shared with each other witch words or phrases that caught our eyes, heart and thoughts.

On coming Wednesday (5th of May) we’ll continue our Bible journey. This time we’ll read from the Acts of the Apostles, more precisely Paul’s speech on Areopagus (Acts 17,22-31) We’ll focus on Acts 17,22-28.

Italian dinner

On Wednesday 30th of September the Student Group had an Italian evening. Andrea, Giovanni B and Giovanni P made dinner for us. We are happy that 21 people showed up! Can I remember all the countries represented? I’ll try: South-Korea, Spain, Philippines, Vietnam, Italy, Singapore, Indonesia and Norway.

We also welcome the new faces; Angelica, David, Gabrielle, Kim, Park, Amaya and Juan. Hope to see you again!=)

The Italian guys served bruschetta, pasta and tiramisu. It was delicious!

And thanks for cleaning up afterwards, Huy and Maria!

First Meeting of this Semester

It’s time to have our first meeting of this semester. The date is Wednesday 19th August, at 7 PM. The location is St. Olav Church. We will meet in front of the church and then proceed downstairs.

On this meeting, we are going to elect a new board and make the program for the new semester. We will also discuss how to reach out for the new catholic students that have just arrived this semester.

If you are a new student, then you are also more than welcomed to join us on this meeting
