How to live a Christian life, as a student, as a young Catholic, today?

Tendencies/ models:

-Back to good old days, ”Christendom”; unity culture

- liberal adaption to modernity, non-confronting.

The last one first:

A piece of Nostalgia. We can’t turn history back!

Only by use of power – creates opposition, anger, hostility, indifference. Only free choice, free adherence to the Christian Faith can function today!

No place for a mere cultural Catholicism.

Nationalisms.

The second one:

A kind of resignation. A kind of underdog mentality. Openness (Vatican II) is good, but not servility. Worldliness, secularization, loss and apostasy is the result.

The best model today:

To be a happy and profiled minority!

Like in the beginning: Jesus calling his disciples!

Like in the first Church: A new people of God among all the peoples!

Like in the Church of the fathers: A martyr Church, a church of confessors and true believers!

They did not dominate the World, but they influenced the world,

With their preaching, their witness, their life, their fellowship.

This is our challenge to day, this is our mission.

We shall proclaim the Christ!

We shall invite to his Church

We shall instruct all who want to become Christians

We shall live in  intensive prayer

Be faithful to the Church’s teaching,

We shall discuss, talk and have a dialogue with people

We shall engage in society, culturally, politically, we shall be joyful participants in our own time,

We shall challenge it.

In this way we shall manifest the Kingdom of God, Christ’s Kingdom! Present here on earth, in tokens, in signs, in glimpses. One day manifested in glory When Christ, the Messiah, returns, as he has promised!
