05 African/Lithuanian Dinner

Hi, everyone! These are the pictures of the last Student Group Dinner for this semester. It has been a good experience, both socially and foodly. And also spiritually, as we gathered and said grace, and strengthened our bonds of friendship and faith through sharing. As you may know, having dinner on Catholic Student Group’s meetings is a new concept. We have been testing it this semester and we will be evaluating it in July or August.

Group picture. Say hi to the camera!

Here’s the beginning of some sort of dish. African food are so colorfull!

The opening dish: Cold Beetroot Soup. Made by Paulius from Lithuania. His time in Norway was unfortunately up, and he has returned to his native country. It was nice to know him during his short stay here.

Here’s Paulius on the right of the picture (and Albert’s on the left). Do say hi if you get the chance, Paulius! Wish you all the best.

Jakob and Kasia.

Here are the boys. Michele has also left Norway and returned to Italy. This is kind of sad, really. We barely got to know him. But the show must go on… Maybe we’ll see him in the future?

Colorfull.

This is delicious. It’s some kind of stuffed… bread. The name escapes me. Either Clarisse or Albert made it. I don’t remember. Sorry. Poor memory.

There’s Clarisse Mpinganzima, the african girl on the right. She’s one of the three who made the dinner that night. She contributed with Rwandish food. It was delicious, but making it was more work and stressfull than she first predicted. “Never again,” she said. Let’s hope that she didn’t mean it literally…

Amazingly, we were about 28-29 people this day. It must be a new record or something.

Here’s Albert and his girlfriend. It was very nice of them to contribute with food from Ghana. You can find the recipy for the spinach sauce on the menu on the right, sent in by Albert himself.

People were finishing the opening dish and were waiting for more.

Ah, the trio of trouble-makers. They got candles that match their clothes and napkins. Interesting…

Here they are more relaxed and not causing any troubles. Phew…

Benedikt smiling across the table. Hi!

Karoline.

On the left, was it… Jill? On the right, Father Dominic.

Peace out!
