04 Vietnamese Dinner

5th of Mar, 2008.

People had just arrived and were waiting for the dinner to be served.

In the mean time, the students and young adults helped out with the setting of the table. They are always so eager to help. It’s nice :)

The tables were set. It was almost time. Let’s check out the kitchen.

Look at this. Vegetables. It’s good for your health.

And proteins, of course. To build that muscles (and fat) that you always wanted.

Here P. Dominic showed the newbies how to roll a ricepaper. It’s a challenging way to eat. We vietnameses just had to make things difficult :)

As you can see, the meals consisted of pork, shrimps, noodle-look-a-like-thingy, and lots of vegetables. Oh, and peanuts…

So far, so good. People had started to get used to the way of the chopsticks.

People enjoyed themselves.

Cheers!

As P. Dominic said during that dinner, this way of eating relies on people helping each other out. It was most clearly demonstrated by the bowls with the hot water for the ricepaper. They were not within everyone’s reach, so the young adults depended on each other if they wanted their ricepaper to get done. This made the dinner more interactive and teaches the Group to function more like a unity (at least during dinner).

Speaking of bowl with hot water…

Look, Daniele had mastered the art of the chopsticks!

People were buzzing around in the kitchen, preparing the last course – the desert!

Let me have a look. What’s there?

Ah… ice cream. With some kind of strange fruit… (Fiskeboller).

Last picture. This looks familiar…
